Clueless Affiliate – Affiliate Marketing Intro.

I though the name of this site was appropriate because “clueless” is how most people feel when they first start looking into how to make money on the internet.

Trust me when I say I that making money on the internet is not as easy as the internet ads and radio ads say, but with the right knowledge and some hard work you can make money on the internet. Lets covers the basic first. How much money though is up to you.

Affiliate marketing is getting paid a commission for driving traffic/new customers to buy a buy a product, subscribe to something, or in general complete the action that the advertiser is paying your to do. In other words all those ads you see all over the internet are placed by either the actual company selling the product or by individual Affiliate Marketing placing those ads.

There are many different approaches to internet marketing. The main methods are:

• You can create a product and sell it online(via your own website or other affiliate marketers selling the product for  you)
• Create an online store and actually carry inventory(like Ebay or Yahoo stores)
• Create an online store and just take orders and have a partnership with a wholesaler to deliver the product/carry the inventory (Known as “Drop Shipping”)
• Price Per Click(PPC) – sign up with search engines and pay to drive traffic to your website via specific keywords.
• Create Content Websites(like Blogs)– have websites where you write about specific topics and refer readers to buy specific products or click on ads on your websites(like Google Adsense) where you get paid for each click.

There is literally thousands of affiliates out there trying to sell products to new affiliates and many of those products are worthless or outdated or the content can be found for free.

Understand that successful affiliate marketers have mastered the sales techniques of “Buy Now, Time is Limited”, “Learn My Secrets”, “Don’t listen to others who are unsuccessful, buy now”, “My Method is Easy with little Work”, “Act Now No Risk”

So do your research before buying any “Make Money from Home” or “Make Easy Money Online” products, don’t be afraid to question why some guy standing in front of a big beach house and Ferrari is selling you his “Secrets” for a limited time at only $30………..gimme a break……..Be skeptical.

There are some “real”, very useful products out there to help affiliate marketers but you have to know where to look and do your research.
